Heaven of The Karampuang Island

Karampuang Island is an island located in Karampuang village, Mamuju sub-district, Mamuju district, West Sulawesi province. The area of ‚Äč‚ÄčKarampuang Island is 6.37 km2 with a population of 2,937 people. Karampuang island tourists will be welcomed with wooden docks from the port of the bulo tip which juts into the sea for approximately 500 m.

Karampuang originating from the Mamuju language if interpreted in Indonesian has a moon or full moon meaning. Actually the island’s real name is Liutang Island, but a penyayi comes from Mamuju namely “Andi Maxum”, praising the beauty of this island is like a moon in a song called Karampuang. Finally this name is becoming more popular to name the island.

This classic cottage is among shady trees, so it feels a natural and soothing atmosphere. Access to the island is very easy to reach, because it is only about 3 km from the city of Mamuju. To get to this island, tourists can start the journey from the mamuju city pier, from this pier tourists can rent a motorized boat, commonly called kainting, the time needed to get to Karampuang Island for about 20 minutes.
